Graph showing Tumor weight versus days since subcutaneous implant of the LOX IMVI tumor in nu/nu NCr mice. There were twelve groups in the study. Group 1: 5x10^6 cells in 0.3 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 2: 5x10^6 cells in 0.2 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 3: 5x10^6 cells in 0.1 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 4: 2.5x10^6 cells in 0.3 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 5: 2.5x10^6 cells in 0.2 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 6: 2.5x10^6 cells in 0.1 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 7: 1x10^6 cells in 0.3 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 8: 1x10^6 cells in 0.2 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 9: 1x10^6 cells in 0.1 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 10: 5x10^5 cells in 0.3 ml were implanted SC. 100% Take Rate. Group 11: 5x10^5 cells in 0.2 ml were implanted SC. 80% Take Rate. Group 12: 5x10^5 cells in 0.1 ml were implanted SC. 80% Take Rate. Notes: Five animals were assigned to each group. Starting at Day 12, animals in various groups that had reached endpoint were removed from the study resulting in fluctuations in the growth curves at subsequent time points. Growth curves were no longer calculated when <70% remained in the group. To assess the effect of inoculum cell density on growth characteristics the cells were prepared at 3 different densities for each total inoculum used.
