Dr. Daniel Zaharevitz started his career at NCI as a high school student, winning an American Cancer Society summer research scholarship to work in the laboratory of Dr. David Johns. He continued at NCI in various student positions during his undergraduate and graduate career at Johns Hopkins, which finished with a Ph.D. in chemistry. He came back to NCI in the Laboratory of Biological Chemistry and worked on pyrimidine biosynthesis pathways. He moved full time to computer work in 1991 and worked on the first DTP web pages. In 1999 he was named Chief of the Information Technology Branch and has worked on all aspects of computing in DTP.
