Thomas S. Dexheimer, Ph.D.
Thomas S. Dexheimer, Ph.D. is the Lab Head of the NCI60 Screening Laboratory and the Target Validation and Screening Laboratory, a position that he assumed in September 2020. Dr. Dexheimer completed a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Arizona and postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute, NIH. Prior to joining the MPB, Dr. Dexheimer spent six years directing the Assay Development and Drug Repurposing Core at Michigan State University. He also spent five years at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), where he developed extensive expertise in assay development and carried out small molecule high throughput screening for chemical probe and lead identification. Dr. Dexheimer has been associated with the field of preclinical drug discovery throughout his research career.
About the Branch Chief
Dr. Beverly A. Teicher PhD is Chief of the Molecular Pharmaco-logy Branch at NCI, a position that she assumed in early 2011. One focus of the Molecular Pharmacology Branch is target and drug discovery for rare and recalcitrant cancers such as sarcoma and small cell lung cancer. Dr. Teicher completed a PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University and postdoctoral training at Yale University School of Medicine. More…
